We refinish on PPG premium systems, which gives us the tools but not the answer. Your factory paint code describes the color the day the vehicle was assembled. Yours has since spent years in the sun and moved. So we spray test cards, take them into daylight, hold them against your actual panel, and tint until the difference disappears. Metallics and pearls get checked from more than one angle, because flake orientation changes what your eye reports.

Then the color goes into the adjacent panels and the clear is carried to a natural break, so nothing anywhere reads as an edge. One customer wrote simply that the paint matched perfectly, which is the whole review a refinish deserves.
